Acquisition of Window Widgets and Eclectic Systems
GCA Altium has advised private equity firm NorthEdge Capital and the DW3 Products Group on the acquisition of Window Widgets and Eclectic Systems. GCA Altium was retained after advising the Solidor Group’s management team as part of the 2014 transaction that saw NorthEdge invest in the business and the creation of the DW3 Products Group.
Window Widgets was founded in 2004 and has become the first port of call for key components for the window, door and conservatory sectors, while Eclectic Systems is best known for developing the fast-growing, revolutionary Residence 9 window system. The two businesses have been acquired from Dan Gill, who will now take on the role of CEO of the DW3 Products Group Window Division and join the main DW3 board.
The acquisition bring the total number of companies within the DW3 Products Group to four, with the new additions sitting alongside Solidor and Nice Door Panels. Each business shares similar distribution channels, thereby enhancing the Groups’ geographical reach and distribution capabilities. In addition, the acquisition provides Eclectic Systems with a direct line to DW3 Products Group’s customer base and allows the DW3 Products Group access to Eclectic Systems’ current and future product range, with the Residence 9 window system in particular generating significant interest due to its innovative design.
This transaction again demonstrates the commitment of both NorthEdge and management to growing the DW3 Products Group into a major player in the UK fenestration market and there are firm plans in place for additional investments during the course of 2015 and beyond.
