GCA Altium advises Rubicon Partners on the sale of Ring Automotive to OSRAM
GCA Altium advised Rubicon Partners on the sale of Ring Automotive, a highly regarded brand in the specialist areas of lighting, inspection and power management for passenger and light commercial vehicles, to OSRAM, a global lighting manufacturer based in Munich.
Headquartered in Leeds, Yorkshire, Ring Automotive has over 40 years’ experience as a leading automotive aftermarket business throughout the UK and Europe. Having been acquired by Rubicon Partners in 2015, Ring Automotive achieved annual sales of around £40 million in 2017.
The deal will enable OSRAM to expand its product range in the automotive sector and should provide the Ring portfolio with access to the US market, via the established OSRAM Sylvania channels, along with creating new sales potential in Europe and the rest of the world with a differentiated brand strategy.
George Skalski, Managing Director of Ring Automotive, said: “We look forward to working alongside OSRAM and believe that the transaction is very positive news for all of our colleagues and customers. The acquisition secures continued investment in the business, which will support our future growth plans and our leading-edge product innovation.”
Rubicon Partners were advised by GCA Altium’s Stuart Warriner, Dominic Orsini and Durgesh Panchani.
Stuart Warriner, Managing Director at GCA Altium, stated: “We are delighted to have worked with Rubicon Partners and with this outstanding outcome. We wish the team and OSRAM every success in the future.”
