Infotheek sold to Altor
A well-established, leading European player
Founded in 1991 under the name Restart Computers, Infotheek is a European leader in IT Asset Disposition and Reverse Logistics with deep OEM relationships.
Through its platform, Infotheek stocks and sells penultimate, new and refurbished hardware equipment (computers, monitors, servers, telecom, etc.) from leading brands, as well as a selection of high quality hardware.
It operates in 12 countries, with operational facilities in The Netherlands. It has a 220+ sales force targeting public sector end users and B2B customers in 25+ countries.
Building up on Altor’s expertise in Reverse Logistics
The acquisition of Infotheek is Altor’s second transaction in the space, having first acquired Sweden-based company Dustin in 2006 and taking it to an IPO on Nasdaq Stockholm in 2015 (at a market capitalisation of SEK 3.8bn).
Altor strongly believes in the ITAD/EOL market in Europe, with the re-use of IT products representing a valuable and growing phenomenon from a sustainability perspective.
This transaction allows Infotheek to draw on Altor’s expertise and continue growth to become a pan-European leader in ITAD and Reverse Logistics.
Taking Infotheek to the next step
Infotheek already operates in several markets, and together with Altor think that there are significant further international expansion possibilities to explore.
Outgrowing the market in the recent years, Infotheek will be looking at accelerating its growth with the financial and operational support of its new owner.
GCA Altium acted as lead advisor to the sellers.
