GCA Altium advises Implico, a portfolio company of BPE, on the acquisition of Brainum
GCA Altium acted as exclusive buy-side financial advisor to BPE and Implico on the acquisition of Brainum, a fast-growing provider of cloud-based terminal management systems.
Implico is a leading software provider for the global oil and gas industry and employs more than 200 specialists both in Europe and the US. The Company offers software solutions, data and consulting services covering the entire supply chain for downstream oil and gas companies.
Brainum, established in 2007, is a fast-growing software vendor specialized in the development and implementation of mission critical software for liquid bulk storage and trading companies. The acquisition of Utrecht-based Brainum marks a big step in the growth strategy of Implico by combining the innovation programs of both companies, especially in the future-focused areas of cloud and digitization. Implico offers OpenTAS, a particularly feature-rich automation software for tank farms and refineries. In addition, the firm develops an SAP downstream solution. Brainum has QINO, a powerful cloud-based terminal management system, in its portfolio. After the merger, Brainum will continue to operate autonomously. The acquisition will provide Implico with better access to the important Benelux market, especially the Netherlands, where numerous oil and gas companies are located.
Sascha Pfeiffer, Member of the Board at GCA Altium, said: “We are delighted to have advised Implico on the successful acquisition of Brainum. Implico and Brainum have a strong strategic fit and we are convinced that Implico will continue its successful track record of growth by expanding its geographic reach and solution portfolio.”
