GCA advises TeamSnap on its acquisition by Waud Capital Partners

GCA is pleased to announce that our client, TeamSnap, Inc., an industry-leading sports technology platform providing team, club and league management software for the amateur sports industry, has been acquired by Waud Capital Partners.

Founded in 2009 and headquartered in Boulder, Colorado, TeamSnap offers registration, rostering, scheduling, website development, invoicing, and communication for sports clubs, leagues, tournaments and teams via its proprietary software platform and mobile application.

With over 22 million members, 3 million unique teams and 19,000 sports league organisations, TeamSnap has modernised the organisation of youth, recreational and competitive sports, allowing coaches, administrators, players and parents to use TeamSnap’s web and smartphone apps to sign up, schedule, communicate and coordinate everything for the team, club and season. It is one of the most recognised names in sports technology due to its innovative approach to sports management, engaged and loyal user base, and its established national presence among the amateur sports community.

The acquisition by Waud will accelerate TeamSnap’s growth by providing resources to expand its offering for athletes, their families and sports organisations of all sizes, enabling TeamSnap to deepen its partnerships and develop innovative new tools and features for its platform. As part of this partnership, Waud Capital executives Peter Frintzilas and Andrew Rueff will join TeamSnap as CEO and Executive Chairman respectively.

GCA served as exclusive financial advisors to TeamSnap in connection with this transaction. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
