Freelands partners with Sister Pictures & launches newly-formed SISTER
Sister Pictures: Jane Featherstone’s Emmy Award winning scripted indie production company
Founded in 2015, Sister Pictures is a leading independent production company based in London and is behind award winning productions such as Chernobyl and Giri/Haji.
They currently have 26 staff members in London, producing 25 hours of scripted TV per year, which will rise to 32 hours per year in 2020.

Freelands, Elisabeth Murdoch’s investment vehicle, has partnered with Sister Pictures and established SISTER alongside Jane Featherstone and Stacey Snider.
This new independent global content company is built upon the foundation of Sister Pictures, and sees all three co-founders and co-owners combine their collective expertise, track records and a shared commitment to creating break out, genre-defining narrative content.
Elisabeth Murdoch will serve as SISTER’s Executive Chairman, Jane Featherstone, founder of Sister Pictures (Chernobyl, Broadchurch) will be Head of SISTER London, and Stacey Snider, former 20th Century Fox Film Chairman will be the company’s Global CEO and Head of SISTER LA.
Murdoch and Featherstone have collaborated before when Shine acquired Kudos Productions in 2007. Featherstone went on to become Shine TV Chairman in addition to her role as CEO of Kudos, before departing to form Sister Pictures in 2015.
