44 Blue Productions acquired by Red Arrow

44 Blue: Producer of non-fiction, docuseries, reality, lifestyle and action-adventure programs

Founded in California by 2 seasoned producers with over 40 years of combined experience, 44 blue produces non-fiction, docuseries, reality, lifestyle and action-adventure programs.

The company has produced innovative content for dozens of top US broadcast and cable networks, including A&E, Animal Planet, CBS, Discovery Channel, E!, HBO, Lifetime, MSNBC and more. Internationally, their series and formats have entertained audiences all over the world.

44 Blue has one of the deepest slates of celeb-reality programming in the industry: Their A-list talent partnerships include Mark Wahlberg, Donnie Wahlberg, Whoopi Goldberg, Dick Wolf, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Bishop T.D. Jakes, Melissa Joan Hart, and Jennifer Garner.

Strategic investment for Red Arrow

In July 2016, 44 Blue announced that a 65% stake had been acquired by Red Arrow Entertainment Group, a ProSiebenSat.1 Group company.

This acquisition represents a further strategic investment for Red Arrow to broaden its factual entertainment portfolio and grow its presence in the US, where it now has 9 companies.

As part of the acquisition of 44 Blue, Red Arrow will also gain access to Ovrture, the virtual reality studio launched in 2015 to produce 360-degree and immersive content. 44 Blue will continue to be led by the founders, with Red Arrow International distributing the company’s programs internationally.

GCA Altium acted as sole advisor to the buyer.
