Ronald Sauser joins GCA Altium Switzerland as Senior Advisor
Ronald brings to GCA Altium a wealth of M&A advisory experience and a long-standing track record of over 35 years. He has led more than 150 domestic and international transactions across all industries.
Ronald was born and raised in Solothurn, Switzerland and studied in Zurich and Berne, receiving his MBA in 1979. His first ten years in business were spent mainly outside Switzerland, working for Credit Suisse Investment Banking in London, New York and Luxembourg. In 1990 he joined and took over the lead of his family business, one of the biggest European distribution companies for the graphic arts industry, and then sold the business in 1997. In 1998 he went back into Investment Banking / M&A and led, for many years, the largest corporate finance team in Switzerland, first at EY Switzerland and later as CEO and Chairman of Sal Oppenheim Corporate Finance Switzerland, which become Leonardo & Co Switzerland in 2011. Following the sale of the Leonardo Group he rejoined EY Switzerland with part of his team to run the M&A department from which he has now retired.
Ronald is an active angel investor and sits on the board of several mid-sized companies. As a co-founder of listed Goldbach Media Group he served for more than 12 years as a board member of the firm, which was sold to Tamedia Group last year – a transaction which GCA Altium advised on.
Alexander Grünwald, Managing Director at GCA Altium and member of the global Board of GCA, commented: “We have known Roni for many years as a fierce and professional competitor. It is great to have him join our Swiss Advisory Board as the third member alongside Christian Wipf and Andreas Kirchschläger. Roni will support our colleagues with his broad network and experience, and we are delighted to be working with him.”
