Giving back to our communities

The GCA Altium Foundation was established in 2020 with the aim of connecting with and investing in the communities where GCA Altium operates.

The Foundation is led by our own employees who, following extensive research and impact assessments, decide on which local organisations to support on an annual basis.

In 2021 we are delighted to be supporting the following organisations:

Buntkicktgut

Football for youths in refugee communities
  • Munich-based community project that establishes intercultural youth football leagues, focusing on children with a refugee background
  • Addresses societal challenges such as social disadvantages of children, youth delinquency, lack of proper education
  • Promotes a purpose and continuity in the life of young people by fostering important principles such as respect and democracy
  • Promotes a hands-on mentality and personal development beyond football

HideOut Youth Zone

A safe and inspiring place for thousands of young people in Manchester
  • HideOut provides young people in a deprived area of east Manchester with a top-quality, safe and affordable place to socialise, learn new skills, and enjoy a huge variety of activities, experiences and opportunities
  • GCA Altium’s Manchester team has supported the HideOut team along their entire journey of building the Youth Zone, and support the organisation as a Founding Patron

Léman Hope

Recovery activities for young people suffering from cancer
  • Based out of Switzerland Léman Hope supports young people aged 8-21 years old recovering from cancer
  • Through a 4-day-long sailing adventure, Léman Hope helps children build back their self-confidence and make a fresh start in their lives
  • During the trip, children are accompanied by professionals to discover the world of sailing and take part in various activities such as discovering the beauty of the lake, swimming, playing, cooking, and more

Machshava Tova

Providing Israel's underprivileged populations with access to technology
  • Based in Jerusalem, Machshava Tova provides underprivileged populations with access to technology in a supportive and empowering environment and has become even more important during the COVID-19 crisis
  • They do this through:
    • Nationwide computer centres in marginalised neighbourhoods
    • Mobile Computer Units (MCU) that reach populations otherwise unable to access the charity’s centres (e.g. because of disabilities, cultural/religious restraints or people staying in shelters)
    • Launched Together at Home – an online community platform, combatting loneliness among seniors
    • Refurbishment of computers donated to the community, increasing the ability to study remotely for many populations
    • Online training for employment seekers

YoungMinds

Mental health support for children across the UK
  • YoungMinds is leading the movement to make sure every young person gets the mental health support they need, when they need it, no matter what
  • YoungMinds provides young people with tools to look after their mental health. They empower adults to be the best support they can be to the young people in their lives. And they amplify young voices to change the world we live in
