GCA Altium advises Scandio on its sale to HiQ
Scandio, headquartered in Munich, was founded in 2003 and employs more than 100 highly skilled tech experts. The company is a digitisation powerhouse focused on IT consulting, agile software development, and cloud technology, and is an Atlassian platinum partner in the DACH region, serving the needs of a wide range of blue-chip customers, including BMW, Siemens and Infineon.
HiQ, a leading tech consultancy in the Nordics, was founded in 1995 and is headquartered in Stockholm. It has more than 1,500 employees across four countries. They are present in all industries, helping organisations strengthen their businesses, simplify systems for their users, and streamline their operations.
The acquisition of Scandio will be HiQ’s first step into the DACH region and will be an important part of the HiQ group going forward, with the aim of becoming the leading tech consultant in Northern Europe.
Commenting on the transaction, Christoph Köberle and Christian Koch, founders of Scandio, said: “We are thrilled about joining HiQ. Over the last 18 years we have built an amazing team of coders, creatives and tech nerds who are passionate transformers and modernisers. We see a strong cultural and strategic fit in HiQ. We are happy to have found the right future home with the help of GCA Altium. It was a true pleasure and fun to work with them, and we could not be happier with the outcome. Their dedication, global buyer network and process tactics helped us to find the right buyer.”
Sven Ivar Mørch, CEO of HiQ, added: “This is a big step for us and an important moment in HiQ’s history. We are now entering the German market with a high-profile acquisition. Scandio is a digitisation powerhouse and has outstanding competencies in IT-consulting, IoT, AI, cloud transformation, and agile software development. Scandio shares the same values in building a business based on strong company culture. I truly welcome the amazing team of Scandio at HiQ – together we will create magic.”
