GCA Altium advises Afinum on the sale of Perfect Drive Sports Group to Bregal Unternehmerkapital
Perfect Drive Sports Group is Europe’s largest e-commerce company for golf equipment and the undisputed market leader in the German speaking region. Its leading position is reflected in the extensive range of more than 20,000 SKUs, which includes the full assortment of golf equipment, apparel, and accessories. In addition to their online presence, All4Golf and Clubhouse Golf also operate high-volume retail shops in Hanover, Germany, and Salford, UK, the former being equipped with a state-of-the-art fitting centre in an area of more than 500 sqm.
Over the course of ownership, Afinum has built a pan-European e-commerce powerhouse for golf equipment through the acquisition of All4Golf and the subsequent combination with Clubhouse Golf, creating the clear and sole market leader in the European market. Today, the company supplies golfers in more than 30 countries with golf equipment and clothing from all the relevant brands in its core markets of Germany and the UK.
Besides the company’s accelerated geographic expansion through the combination with Clubhouse Golf, the succession of former All4Golf shareholder and managing director Stefan Kirste was arranged under Afinum’s ownership, following a focused expansion of management capacities. Additionally, by harmonising financial processes, introducing best practice sharing initiatives between All4Golf and Clubhouse Golf in the fields of purchasing and marketing, as well as deciding to implement a group-wide ERP system, Afinum laid the foundation for further integration of the group. As a result of these measures, Perfect Drive Sports Group is in an ideal position to further cement its leading market position across DACH and the UK, driving expansion beyond its core markets and strengthening its position as the only pan-European e-commerce company for golf.
The existing management team of Perfect Drive Sports Group will remain on board under the new ownership, and in spite of the sale of 100% of their shares, Afinum remains commercially incentivised in the group’s further successful growth.
