  • Managing Director at GCA Altium’s Manchester office
  • 20 years of M&A at GCA Altium and co-leads Technologies related activities in the UK with a particular focus on tech-enables services, tech-enabled industrials including energy and sustainability
  • Ph.D. (Commercialising New Technology) from UMIST

AXEL BAUER

MANAGING DIRECTOR
  • Axel joined Altium in 2011 from Duff & Phelps’ corporate finance consulting business, he also spent nine years at Linklaters / O&R, where in 2000 he set up and led the subsidiary O&R Corporate Finance as a Managing Director
  • During his career, Axel has worked on numerous transactions in the mid-market segment
  • Axel has a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Passau

CARLO DAWAN

MANAGING DIRECTOR
  • Carlo joined GCA Altium in 2008 as head of the Milan office
  • Before that, Carlo founded and led his own M&A advisory business for almost 15 years
  • During the last 25 years Carlo has gained extensive expertise across many industries, particularly in the retail, luxury, media, healthcare and manufacturing space

JEREMY HARRISON

MANAGING DIRECTOR
  • Jeremy joined GCA Altium in January 2020 with the aim of building up our operations in the Midlands
  • Jeremy has a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Leeds

MADELEINE JAHR

MANAGING DIRECTOR
  • She focuses largely on Family Offices and Family Owned Companies
  • She has strong expertise in the areas of retail and consumer goods, digital, media and internet
  • Madeleine has a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of St. Gallen and during her studies, she founded two food companies in Eastern Europe

CHRISTOPHER JONES

MANAGING DIRECTOR
  • Christopher joined GCA Altium in 2013 and focuses on his key areas of expertise: leisure, travel and eCommerce / retail
  • Christopher has over 12 years of corporate finance experience and has completed over 30 M&A transactions
  • He has a BSc in Geography from Durham University

MANAGING DIRECTOR
  • Simon qualified as an ACA in 1997 and has gained profound corporate finance experience, having successfully sold many businesses to publicly listed companies and private equity
  • Simon has 20 years’ experience of leading M&A transactions in a variety of sectors including tech enabled support services and Industrials
  • He has significant private equity experience and has acted for both buyers and sellers on behalf of financial institutions and owner managers

XAVIER MOREELS

MANAGING DIRECTOR
  • Based out of Belgium, Xavier leads GCA Altium’s Benelux coverage, complementing our existing client offering and bringing with him a wealth of experience in Software, Tech-Enabled Services, Telecoms & IT and FinTech
  • Xavier has advised both large public companies on the buy side, and many smaller, high-growth companies on their sale to strategic and financial buyers.
  • More than two decades of experience as a technology and telecoms banker

SHIN MURAI

MANAGING DIRECTOR
  • Shin Murai is a Managing Director at GCA. He joined the firm in 2006 and has 19 years of experience in M&A advisory and tax structuring
  • Shin began working at GCA in the Tokyo office advising on transactions mainly in technology, chemistry, materials and clean technology industries
  • In 2013 he transferred to Frankfurt and subsequently London in March 2016. In Europe, he focuses on originating cross-border transactions between Japan and Europe, Middle East and Russia

  • Over the last ten years, Tobias has focused on technology and online transactions
  • He has successfully advised on more than 20 transactions across Europe

  • Thomas holds a master’s degree in Business and Economics from the University of Basel, where he specialized in finance, controlling and banking

  • Gary has 9 years of M&A experience which he gained at previous positions with Oddo BHF, Bucéphale Finance and Rothschild
  • He studied law and finance at the Paris-Dauphine, Nanterre and Sorbonne universities

TOBIAS LEVEDAG

DIRECTOR
  • Tobias began his career in banking with positions at JPMorgan Cazenove and Deutsche Bank London where he focused on the Natural Resources space
  • He holds a Bachelor of Law from King’s College London and an MBA from Columbia Business School

  • Barbara has almost 15 years of Corporate Finance experience, covering both large and mid-market companies
  • She has advised on multiple transactions with a strong focus on luxury, consumer and retail
  • Barbara holds a master’s degree in Business Administration from Bocconi University in Milan

  • Sebastian joined GCA Altium in 2018. Prior to joining GCA Altium, Sebastian worked at AlixPartners in Munich where he was advising in buy-side M&A transactions, post-merger-integrations and merger preparations
  • Sebastian specifically covers the sectors Industrials as well as Business Services and has also gained significant transaction experience in industries such as Leisure/Hospitality, Healthcare and Financial Institutions
  • Sebastian holds a Master’s equivalent degree in Business Administration (Dipl. Kfm.) from the University of Passau

  • Led more than 250 public and private market financings, merger & acquisitions, recapitalizations, joint ventures, and senior and subordinated debt financings

  • Managing Director at GCA’s New York office
  • Focused on the technology subsectors of software, transaction processing, automotive technology and semiconductors
  • Holds an MSc in Environmental Technology from Imperial College, London

  • Head of the Electronics and Automotive / Mobility Technologies Groups, Head of the San Francisco office
  • More than 25 years of investment banking experience
  • Alex is also a member of the Board of Directors of A3Cube; an early stage private company focused on re-inventing the converged computing market

ANDRÉ HILTON

MANAGING DIRECTOR
  • André is a Managing Director covering Japan-U.S. cross-border M&A transactions, and has been focused primarily on the following sectors: Chemicals, Food and Beverage, Industrial, Medtech, Personal Care and Technology
  • Over his 29-year investment banking career, he has led the origination and execution of over 60 cross-border M&A advisory transactions
  • Andre earned an MBA from New York University and a BA in Economics from Manchester University

MANAGING DIRECTOR
  • Glen is a Managing Director at GCA focused on commerce technology providers throughout the retail, wholesale and restaurant verticals
  • With over 11 years of Tech M&A experience, Glen’s direct areas of expertise include digital marketing, e-commerce platforms, in-store retail management systems, mobile commerce and payment platforms
  • He received a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Natal (South Africa) and an MBA from Babson College

  • Kevin Walsh is a Managing Director at GCA and senior member of the firm’s software and M&A team
  • He has more than 16 years of experience providing strategic advice to boards and management teams of technology businesses, and has worked on a variety of transaction types for both public and private company clients
  • Kevin received his B.S.E. in Operations Research and Financial Engineering from Princeton University

  • Blake Christensen is a Director at GCA, where he focuses on Industrials and Industrial Technology
  • Prior to joining GCA in 2017, Blake spent two years at Sagent Advisors in New York and four years at DC Advisory in London, focusing on Industrials
  • Blake holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Queensland, Australia

REPRESENTATIVE DIRECTOR
  • Aki Watanabe is founder and Representative Director of GCA Corporation
  • He has over 30 years of M&A advisory experience and has completed numerous domestic and cross-border deals
  • He is a visiting professor at the MBA program of Kobe University and has published many books on M&A and related topics and received his BA in Commerce and Accounting from Chuo University and is a CPA in Japan and the US

  • Tomo Kubota is Representative Director of GCA Technovation in the Tokyo office
  • He is responsible for M&A/capital raising advisory services with a particular focus on global media/internet and technology companies

  • Primary focus on water, energy, engineering, heavy industry, chemicals and infrastructure sectors
  • 20+ years of corporate finance experience in Tokyo and New York

SAMEER JINDAL

MANAGING DIRECTOR
  • Is a Managing Director, Co-head of GCA Asia (ex Japan) and head of India Operations
  • Focused heavily on mergers & acquisitions and has over 15 years of experience working in the U.S., Japan, and India
  • He earned a B.Tech. from the Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai and an M.BA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania

  • Sunil is a Managing Director at GCA Mumbai
  • He has over 20 years of experience in M&A, Private Equity Advisory, Corporate Finance and Capital Markets across the Consumer, Chemicals, Food & Agri, Healthcare/Pharmaceuticals, Industrials and Commodities sectors
  • He also has significant experience in managing cross border transactions

MANAGING DIRECTOR
  • Ro is a Managing Director at GCA Corporation and Board Member of GCA Singapore
  • With over 14 years of on-the-ground experience in Asian countries including Thailand, India and Singapore, Ro has extensive expertise particularly in cross-border M&A transactions between Japanese and other Asian corporations
  • Ro received a BA in Business and Commerce from Keio University

KATSUHIRO SUMIYOSHI

MANAGING DIRECTOR
  • Katsuhiro has over 18 years of investment banking experience and has extensive M&A expertise primarily in Industrials including Automotive, Machinery, Metals and Mining, Energy and Chemical sectors
  • He is also experienced in cross-border transactions involving overseas asset sales by large-cap Japanese companies such as INPEX and Mitsui& Co.
  • Katsuhiro graduated from University of Tokyo majoring in Economics and received an MBA from Darden Business School, University of Virginia.

  • Hisashi Yoshimura is an Executive Director at GCA Corporation
